Jefferson Presbyterian is a small, yet diverse community church located at 4450 Jefferson Hwy, in the shadow of the Huey P. Long Bridge.
Although we lost our sanctuary in early 2008 due to a tragic fire, we continue to hold weekly worship services and other activities in our Fellowship Hall. Despite our loss, our faith is stronger than ever and we are dedicated to rebuilding our sanctuary so that we may continue to serve God and our community.
We are located a few blocks from the Huey P. Long bridge, right next to Jefferson Elementary School.

Sanctuary Construction Update

Thankfully the weather has been cooperating. The framers have made a lot of progress and the building is nearly enclosed now.

News & Announcements

New Piano

Our friends at Hall Piano helped us select the new piano for the sanctuary. We have purchased a beautiful 6' Essex Grand Piano with an Ebony Polish finish. The piano will remain in storage until we complete construction, but we are all looking forward to seeing it in the new sanctuary. Special thanks to Steven Kinchen at Hall Piano for all his advice and assistance with selecting an appropriate piano.

Food Bank Preparation & Distribution

Preparation for the next Food Bank will be at 9:00AM on Thursday, May 17th. Please come to the Fellowship Hall if you wish to assist in preparing grocery bags for distribution. The Food Bank will be open for distribution from 9:00AM - 11:00AM on Saturday, May 19th.

Sweet Hour of Prayer

Come join us in the Fellowship Hall on the 4th Thursday of each month at either 12:00 PM or 6:30PM for 1 hour to seek God's face, hear His voice, and pray for Jefferson Presbyterian Church and our community.

New Healing Prayer Service

On the 2nd Sunday of each month, anyone wishing to receive healing prayers from Rev. Jan can meet in the parlor immediate following the Worship Service.

New Worship Service Start Time in 2012

Beginning on Sunday, January 1st, 2012our Sunday Worship Service will be returning to its original start time of 10:30AM and Sunday School will be moving to 9:30AM. Please make a note of the new times!

Homeless Ministries

The Jefferson Presbyterian Foodbank is requesting donations of Men's clothing, particularly pants and jeans in sizes 30-34. Please contact Jerri Hull or the Church Office with donations.
